Laser Hair removal

Unlike shaving or waxing, laser hair removal targets hair follicles to slow regrowth permanently. After completing a series of sessions, most people experience a 90%+ reduction in hair growth, with finer, lighter regrowth. (6-8 treatments are the usual amounts of treatments necessary)

Good Faith exam (GFE)

is required at your initial visit to Tori’s Treatments and remains valid for one year. During this appointment, we’ll review your aesthetic goals and authorize the services you’d like to receive, providing clear and transparent pricing upfront. The fee for the Good Faith Estimate is $35.

IPL - Intense Pulsed Light

IPL can treat a variety of skin concerns in one session, including: Sun damage, age spots, hyperpigmentation, redness, rosacea, acne, acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles. Can perform treatments every 2-4 weeks with maintenance sessions as needed.

How Does The Laser Work?

Diode lasers are considered the gold standard for hair removal due to their high efficacy, speed, and safety profile. They are especially suitable for treating darker skin types, thanks to their longer wavelengths and precise targeting of hair follicles.

Hyperpigmentation

IPL systems can effectively treat various pigmented lesions, such as age spots, sunspots, and melasma, by targeting melanin.

IPL systems, especially those with customizable wavelength ranges of 515-560 nm, are highly effective for treating pigmented lesions and may provide more consistent results across different skin types.

Acne is caused by a combination of factors including bacteria, inflammation, and excess oil production. IPL machines work by emitting intense pulses of light that penetrate the skin and target the bacteria responsible for acne, specifically Propionibacterium acnes. This bacterium is known to thrive in the sebaceous glands of the skin, which are responsible for producing the oil that can clog pores and lead to acne.

The light emitted by IPL machines is absorbed by the bacteria, which then produces heat and is destroyed. This process helps to eliminate the bacteria responsible for acne and reduce the number of breakouts on the skin.

Before laser treatment

Shave the treatment area either day of or the day before to ensure the laser targets the follicle directly. Long hair will prohibit the laser from reaching the follicle.
Avoid sun exposure and tanning before your session. Your change in pigment can result in a long term pigment change to your skin.
Do not wear lotions or deodorants.
No waxing, tweezing, threading, or epilators for 2–4 weeks prior
No sun exposure or tanning for 2–4 weeks
Avoid retinol, exfoliants, acids 3–7 days before treatment

during the treatment

The laser targets pigment in the hair follicle, disrupting growth.
Sessions last 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the area treated.
Built-in cooling technology and gel is used to minimize discomfort.
Normal sensation to expect: rubber-band snap sensation.

after treatment

Temporary redness or mild swelling may occur but fades within hours.
Apply SPF 30+ sunscreen to protect treated areas.
Results appear after 2-3 sessions, with maximum reduction after 6 sessions.
Do not tan after treatment

Pregnancy (especially abdomen, bikini, or back)
Active skin infections (bacterial, viral, fungal) in treatment area
– including herpes simplex outbreaks
Active skin cancer or suspicious lesions in the treatment area
Open wounds, burns, or unhealed skin
Photosensitive disorders (e.g., lupus, porphyria)
Use of isotretinoin (Accutane) within the last 6–12 months (follow device protocol)
Recent radiation therapy in the treatment area
Inability to avoid sun exposure before/after treatment
